Microsoft Power BI App Reviews

Top App

app well done it helps me getting my BI dashboard from Windows into Iphone

Fantastic Feature Rich App

The app brings a ton of features to the iPhone. I love being able to view dashboards and reports and have the ability to use slicers. The only minor issue I see at this point is that I cant make reports or dashboards "full screen" while in use on my 6s Plus. I have a large screen that would be perfect for this so hopefully it can be given as an option in the future to drop the name border at the top and the tabs border from the bottom. Keep up the good work!

Death by a 1000 Cuts

There isnt anything majorly wrong with the app, except the fact that a lot of times reports dont load. It feels like Im dying by a thousand cuts. I have to X out and try to reload a couple of times before it load. Other times, some charts load and others dont. Other times, all charts load but text dont load. Im creating report for busy execs. They are not going to sit around Xing out and reopening reports in hopes that itll load correctly. To me these nuisances makes this an unusable enterprise app. Until MS can fix these load issues, I cannot push to get this across the organization.

Wont connect to SSRS 2016

App starts fine. When trying to connect to SSRS server the app force quits. Each time after it force quits. Only removing and reinstalling allows you to run the app and try again, only to fail.

Crashes

Crashes when opening the example visualizations.

Refreshing Salesforce Data and Apple Watch

I want to love this app. Easy to set up and get started with PowerBI. But the auto refresh on salesforce data isnt reliable. And when it works, the data doesnt reliably transfer to the watch. If these syncs can be made bullet proof we have ourselves a game changing system. Till then its just promise but not much else. Ill change this review when if they nail it. Please fix the auto refresh!!!

Another great app for BI !

This application is a true improvement over Microsoft BI stack, as a customer, getting a direct access to enterprise KPI with drill capabilities, visual analysis and dashboarding capabilities is a killer feature ! Its simple to get ready with your login Office 365 Tenant login information, and after that its very simple to use. Note : At this time, the surfaces power BI App is slightly different from the iPad App, well look forward the Microsoft team to continue this work

No reports

Only enables access to dashboards which are definitely not ready for prime time. yet directly online I can access both reports and dashboards from the same power bi interface. Ive tried creating dashboards and for some reason the interface is different from power view and worse. I cant even get some simple things done like putting a number on a categorical axis and expecting it to display properly. My bar chart by year was displayed in a random 2012 2011 2014 order. I can fix that in power view, power pivot, or excel, but not in this awful dashboard software. quickest fix would be to enable access to reports or forgo the app rather than waiting for the next release to either convert reports to dashboards or actually having the dashboard software be ready for professional use. I gave 2 stars because I could at least log-in to see that I couldnt access my reports here.

Beautiful Business Productivity App

Now this is what I call a beautiful and businesses productivity app. Great job Microsoft, you truly are becoming an open company that is embracing all platforms that users are on - kudos on a beautiful business app.

Power BI

Amazing App. Dashboard views cool and easy to configure.

Amazing

This is probably the best BI dashboard app out there. Got it setup for our customers in no time. Initial feedback from them? "Gimme more!" Just goes to show how easy it was for them to use. Keep up the great work

The future of BI

This approach to dashboarding has great potential. The new Power BI makes it very easy to make and distribute insightful, dynamic dashboards with underlying reports that drill down into the data. Unfortunately the whole system is new and unstable. The iOS app crashes when trying to display charts drawn from large datasets. Five stars for the overall design, three stars for the current state of the app equals four stars for now.

Great promise, little rough around the edges

In a short period of time Microsoft has developed one the most promising and easy-to-use self service business intelligence solutions. The companion iOS app is a good start with a nice visual design, support for newer iPhones, fast launch times, and some nice interaction capabilities with Power BI dashboards. Having said that, there is room for improvement. It is prone to crashing on certain dashboards when scrolling. When you share a tile with someone it is sent as a low resolution pixelated JPEG when a crisper PNG would probably be a better choice. Favorite tiles are not synced across devices so you have to set them up individually on each iPhone or iPad. There is no support for Touch ID to protect sensitive financial data. The pace of improvements and the great starting point make me very optimistic about the future of Power BI and their iOS support. My whole company is moving to Power BI as our primary reporting tool. I would love Apple Watch support with support for displaying favorite tiles.

Crash

Crash all the time

What Happened???

After the auto update for 4.0 hit yesterday (7/30), the app does not open any longer on either my iPhone 6 or iPad Air 2, both with iOS 8.4. It hits the opening logo and then dies. Please fix ASAP. Even after a reboot of both, the app still shows the same issues.

Awesome!

A new era for Microsoft with Mobile apps. Ready to explore more on power BI!

Crash

Same problem here. Shortly after logo appears, app crashes.

Great app!

Free version OK, paid version even better

Login screen

The login screen is not scrollable and I am not able to login.

Scrolling still not working

Power BI is great and the app is a greta extension to the could based power bi. But the update did not bring the fixes it promises on the app store. The touch scrolling in matrix tiles is still not working although the description for the new version specifically states that it did. tried uninstall and reinstall. running power bi 4.6 on iOS 8.4. Without scrolling reading table data is a huge pain! Please fix this and I’ll go to 5 stars!
